Watch Will Ferrell Hit a Cheerleader in the Face with a Basketball

Will Ferrell attempted to take a half-court shot during halftime at last night’s Lakers-Pelicans game in New Orleans and instead hit a cheerleader directly in the face. Fortunately for everyone involved, it was all part of a scene from Ferrell’s upcoming movie Daddy’s Home, co-starring Mark Wahlberg, Linda Cardellini and Hannibal Buress.

The moment was caught on cellphone cameras from a variety of angles and quickly posted to YouTube, Instagram and Vine, where apparently some people thought the incident actually happened:

Ferrell’s character, described as a “divorced guy” who reenters his ex-wife’s life and “wreaks havoc,” was escorted out of the arena by “security”:
