Wendy Davis Is Losing Ground with Texas Women
Wendy Davis’ gubernatorial campaign got a round of bad numbers from Public Policy Polling Tuesday, in a survey that found her still trailing opponent Greg Abbott by double digits, and eroding favorability among women.
Davis came to prominence after a 13-hour filibuster against a last-minute abortion bill last summer, and has campaigned as a champion for women’s health causes and pay equity. But according to PPP Abbott has an 8-point lead in favorability among women, up two points from last November:

But it’s Davis’ favorability ratings that should really give her campaign pause. Here’s the line in November:

That’s quite a swing. Davis’ campaign stumbled in the last few months, especially following a Dallas Morning News feature that questioned certain details about her past. However, Greg Abbott’s Great Nugent Adventure had seemed to even things out for a while.
