WH Insider Claims Hope Hicks Secretly Kept a ‘Detailed Diary’ Of Interactions With Trump

Talk about burying the lede.
In a Daily Mail puff piece about White House communications director Hope Hicks and how she could be looking at a #10 million payday for a tell-all book about her time in the Trump administration, a White House insider told the publication that Hicks clandestinely kept a diary.
Hicks, who announced she was resigning from her post a day after she told the House Intelligence Committee she told “white lies” for President Donald Trump, is apparently being sought out by Hollywood producers and publishing houses to tell her story. And in the Daily Mail article detailing the power players vying for Hicks’ attention, we got this juicy detail:
According to a White House insider, Hicks has been secretly keeping what was described as a ‘detailed diary of her White House work, and her interactions with the president.’
‘The thing is,’ the source tells Daily Mail, ‘Hope’s one of Donald Trump’s most loyal colleagues and friends. She’s not one to destroy that relationship.
‘And she is certainly under some sort of nondisclosure agreement. Moreover, the various investigations by the special counsel and congress could target her. So she has to be very careful about jumping into any deals.’
But if Hicks has a journal in which she kept track of all the activity within the White House, it won’t just make a good basis for a political gossip book. That is something investigators are going to want to get their hands on, something former Obama White House Ethics Czar Nor Eisan noted Thursday night:
Whoa!: “Hicks has been secretly keeping…a 'diary of her White House work, and her interactions w/Trump.'” If true, belongs to USG not her, must be preserved in WH under Pres Recds Act, raises issues about her handling of classified & WILL be subpoenaed. https://t.co/oPKBlBRtvL
