Wild Baseball Game Ends on a Stunning Walk-Off… Bunt
In one of the strangest turn of events you’re likely to see this summer (if you don’t count anything happening on the bizarro campaign trail), the Chicago Cubs won the Sunday Night Baseball game with a thrilled walk-off… bunt.
When pitcher Jon Lester pinch-hit in the bottom of the 12th inning late last night, it was unlikely he had ambitions to slap a walk-off homerun, so he did the next best thing.
We all knew this Sunday night would end with a 2-strike #walkoff bunt by @JLester34. https://t.co/zHgFW0ed1L pic.twitter.com/ASPO4xMvaC

With a runner on third base, Lester bunted, scoring Jason Heyward and capping a 7-6 victory that saw the Cubbies down at one point 6-0 to the Seattle Mariners. Catcher Mike Zunino‘s attempted tag at home wasn’t enough to stop Heyward.
Lester’s heroics came on a 2-2 pitch with one out of Seattle’s Cody Martin. His Chicago teammates mobbed him alongside the first base line before ripping off his jersey in celebration.
