Husband of Stormy Daniels Says They’ll Likely Leave U.S. If Trump Is Not Convicted

Barrett Blade, the husband of Stormy Daniels, told CNN that if Donald Trump is not convicted in hush money trial, he and his wife will likely be leaving the country.

The former president is facing more than 30 felony counts for falsifying business records. He’s accused of making hush money payments through associates to Daniels to cover up an alleged affair. Trump has denied knowledge of any such payments, as well as an affair ever happening.

Blade joined CNN’s Erin Burnett on Tuesday to discuss the ongoing Manhattan trial where his wife recently testified.

“I don’t think it gets better for her. I think if it’s not guilty, we got to decide what to do. Good chance we’ll probably vacate this country,” Blade told Burnett on Tuesday about the ongoing trial.

Daniels alleges Trump and her had a sexual encounter in 2006 while Trump was married. Hush money payments were then allegedly made as Trump was diving into his first presidential campaign. He denies the affair ever occurred.

Blade pushed back against theories that his wife has benefitted financially from the Trump controversy, revealing she even paid her own way when she needed to testify in Manhattan.

According to Blade, the trial is a no-win scenario for Daniels.

“I don’t see it as a win situation either way. I know that we would like to get on with our lives,” he said. “I know that she wants to move past this. We just want to do what I guess you’d say normal people get to do in some aspects but I don’t know if that ever will be, you know, and it breaks my heart.”
