I’m Rubber, You’re Glue: Trump Employs School Yard Reply to Biden Calling Him an Insurrectionist

Former President Donald Trump has responded to President Joe Biden in the same manner that a 5-year-old might argue with a sibling rival.
At issue is the recent Colorado Supreme Court ruling that will ban Trump from the presidential ballot, citing Trump’s alleged role in the January 6th Capitol riot and the 14th amendment. Most legal experts do not think the US Supreme Court will allow this move, and many political analysts see this as a political win for the constantly aggrieved, woe is me victimhood campaign of the 45th president. Others believe that laws should be applied to everyone, even former presidents.
Shortly after the decision came out, Biden was asked by a reporter to comment. After first explaining that he was “not going to comment on a court case,” the president was asked: “Is he [Trump] an insurrectionist?” which prompted a more detailed — and blunt — response:
Reporter: Is Trump an insurrectionist, sir?
Biden: Well, I think that was certainly self-evident. You saw it all. Now whether the 14th Amendment applies, I’ll let the court make that decision. But he certainly supported an insurrection. No question about it. None. Zero. And he seems to be doubling down on about everything. Anyway…
Trump appeared to respond directly to Biden’s claim Thursday morning, pulling out the old “best defense is a good offense” tactic, but this time with the kindergartner vibe. Trump wrote on social media: “I’m not an Insurrectionist (“PEACEFULLY & PATRIOTICALLY”), Crooked Joe Biden is!!!”

Trump is referencing his call for his supporters to march on the Capitol Building on January 6th, where he said “peacefully and patriotically.” He did not reference his lack of action during the riot, nor did he explain any reasoning for why Joe Biden is, but reason and logic are rarely at play in partisan attacks, especially from Trump.
