John Fetterman Dines With Steve Bannon on Wedding Anniversary

Sen. John Fetterman (D-PA) was seen having dinner with MAGA strategist Steve Bannon on Monday, according to the June 10 edition of Politico Playbook.

“EYES-EMOJI SPOTTED: John Fetterman, the not-uncontroversial Democratic senator for Pennsylvania, dining in D.C.’s top MAGA hangout Butterworth’s on Monday evening. Fetterman was joined by Breitbart’s Matt Boyle, plus — for a good 20 minutes or so — Steve Bannon,” the publication said of Fetterman’s sit-down, which occurred on June 9. “Now that’s a conversation Playbook would have liked to overhear.”

What Politico did not mention was that Monday, June 9, was Fetterman’s 17th wedding anniversary with Gisele Fetterman.

The dinner nugget caught the attention of Sean Kitchen of Courier Newsroom, who on Tuesday quote-tweeted the Politico blurb with a screenshot of a tweet from Fetterman on June 10, 2024.

“You might have heard G[isele] and I were in a car accident yesterday. Thank you all for the well wishes,” the senator posted at the time. “Not the best way to spend our 16th wedding anniversary but we’re doing well and happy to be back home in Braddock with the family.”

“[Y]esterday,” of course, would mean June 9, the same date on which the senator dined with Bannon a year later on Monday.

Citing current and ex-Fetterman staffers, a report published by New York magazine last month “paint[ed] a picture of an erratic senator who has become almost impossible to work for and whose mental-health situation is more serious and complicated than previously reported.”

The outlet reported that Gisele Fetterman is alarmed by her husband’s unyielding support of Israel in the war in Gaza.

“They are bombing refugee camps. How can you support this?” an aide recalled Gisele telling the senator in his office with tears in her eyes. He reportedly responded, “That’s all propaganda.”

In a text to one staffer, Gisele wrote, “I am at breaking point and I can’t co-sign this any longer. Id love some help in language to separate myself from this. Can anyone help me?”

Another ex-staffer claimed Gisele told her husband on speakerphone, “Who did I marry? Where is the man I married?”
