Marjorie Taylor Greene Rages At Top Democrat Over Bill To Strip Secret Service Protection For Convicted Felons — Like Trump

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (D-GA) introduced a resolution on Wednesday to censure Rep. Bennie Thompson (D-MS) for pushing a bill to strip Secret Service for convicted felons.

Back in April, Thompson introduced legislation to strip Secret Service protection from convicted felons sentenced to prison. A month later, former President Donald Trump was convicted of 34 counts of falsifying business records in a New York criminal case.

Since the bill was introduced, Trump has faced an assassination attempt and then an individual was arrested for allegedly bringing a firearm to the property line of where the GOP nominee was golfing at his club in West Palm Beach.

Greene claimed during her speech on the House floor that Thompson’s proposed bill “could lead to the murder of President Trump.”

“I rise today to announce I am introducing a resolution to censure the ranking member of Homeland Security Committee, Bennie Thompson, from Mississippi,” Greene said. “Mr. Thompson introduced a bill to repeal and completely remove the Secret Service protection of former President Donald J. Trump with the Department of Justice being weaponized against President Trump.”

She added, “They are also taking action that could lead to the murder of President Trump. Mr. Thompson has refused to remove his bill on July 13th. President Trump was nearly assassinated on September 15th. There was another assassination attempt on his life. This bill must be removed. Or Representative Thompson should be censured in the well of the House.”
