Press Corps Laughs At Biden’s Reply to Question About His Health

President Joe Biden, 81, joked on Wednesday that he was told he “look[s] too young” after his annual physical that morning.

The White House announced on Wednesday that the president would make a previously unannounced stop at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center for a physical exam.

After his exam, Biden invited local law enforcement officials to the White House to discuss efforts to reduce crime. After he was finished giving his remarks though, the first questions were on how his exam went and Biden made light of any concerns about his health and advanced age.

The president told reporters he’s “squared away” and then said, “They think I look too young,” earning some laughs from the White House press corps.

Biden also addressed Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-KY) announcing he’s stepping down from Senate leadership and from the Senate altogether after his current term. The president said he was “sorry” to see the longtime senator leave, adding they had a “great relationship.”
