Rep. Ilan Omar and CNN’s S.E. Cupp Exchange Fire Over Lindsey Graham: ‘Patently Homophobic’

As fallout from Rep. Ilhan Omar’s (D-MN) interview with CNN continues, much attention has been focused on her tweet about Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) being “comprised” and being blackmailed into giving his support to President Donald Trump.
CNN’s S.E. Cupp was among the many people who called out Omar, responding to a tweet from Grabien founder Tom Elliott:
This is ignorant, homophobic and unacceptable, @IlhanMN. Democrats, this is becoming a very bad look. https://t.co/EhEmXKvN33
— S.E. Cupp (@secupp) January 17, 2019
After being called out to delete her tweet because Omar did not explicitly mention Graham’s sexuality in the interview, Cupp said she would not because a “member of Congress jumped on the patently homophobic ‘Lindsey must be hiding something’ bandwagon”:
No. A member of Congress jumped on the patently homophobic “Lindsey must be hiding something” bandwagon and offered precisely ZERO proof, only wholly invented, baseless hypotheticals. That’s irresponsible…and also ignorant, homophobic and unacceptable. https://t.co/gtAL6QGunl

Omar responded to Cupp, saying the “only thing baseless here is your tweet”:
You’re bias is showing, the only thing baseless here is your tweet.
Do better! https://t.co/brTKBXsewE

I love how revealing the Right is in their assumptions of me.
Pro-tip- just because you are homophobic, doesn’t mean everyone else is.
Deal with your own bigotry and Islamophobic views of me, and stop with the hateful smears. pic.twitter.com/vWtEmI72n2

“Yes, because the Right thinks being homosexual is ‘compromising’. Well I have news for them, being LGBTQ+ isn’t something we should be ashamed of! Y’all know my tweet had nothing to do with his sexuality and everything to do with his blind cooperation w/ Trump. Let’s focus,” she further tweeted.
