Tim Walz Plays Into Dem Rumors of Trump’s Death: ‘There Will Be News, Sometime’
Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz (D) alluded to a viral rumor that President Donald Trump had died over Labor Day Weekend, telling a crowd at a festival on Monday that he understood why they were furiously checking their phones for news on the topic. But despite the rumor being untrue, he told fellow Democrats and leftists who were hoping for the president to croak not to worry, because that news will be true sooner or later. He said:
Look, I get it. You get up in the morning and you doom scroll through things. And although I will say this, the last few days, you woke up thinking there might be news. Just saying, just saying. There will be news, sometime. Just so you know, there will be news.
The small crowd at the Labor Day picnic in Duluth, MN. seemed to get a kick out of the comment, with several people chuckling as he made it.
Walz, a moment later, urged the crowd to stand up for democracy, “what’s right,” and “for our neighbors.”
He added, “We can be kind and still kick the living sh*t out of them. You can do both those things.”
Walz, of course, was Kamala Harris’ running mate during their failed bid to win the 2024 election against Trump and JD Vance. His joke about Trump’s death comes after many recently speculated on X and Bluesky about the commander-in-chief’s health because of a light Labor Day Weekend schedule.
On Saturday morning, Trump dashed the hopes of those who were praying for his downfall when photos and video emerged of him heading out to play some golf with his granddaughter, Kai Trump.
Walz was not the only leftist who was bummed out by Trump still being alive. Twitch star Hasan Piker made it clear he was not thrilled, telling his fans during a livestream on Saturday, “As I warned you before, evil never dies.”
