The Trump administration announced on Tuesday that it had revoked the visas of several foreign nationals who were caught celebrating the assassination of conservative activist Charlie Kirk last month.
“The United States has no obligation to host foreigners who wish death on Americans,” declared the State Department in a series of social media posts. “The State Department continues to identify visa holders who celebrated the heinous assassination of Charlie Kirk. Here are just a few examples of aliens who are no longer welcome in the U.S.”
The State Department then listed several examples of foreign nationals whose visas had been revoked, including an Argentinian who told Kirk to “rest in f***ing p***,” a South African who called Kirk “white nationalist trailer trash,” a Mexican who said Kirk was “better off dead,” a Brazilian who said Kirk “died too late,” a Paraguayan who called Kirk a “son of a b**** who died by his own rules,” and a German who wrote, “When fascists die, democrats don’t complain.”
“[President Donald Trump] and [Secretary of State Marco Rubio] will defend our borders, our culture, and our citizens by enforcing our immigration laws,” the State Department warned. “Aliens who take advantage of America’s hospitality while celebrating the assassination of our citizens will be removed.”
Last month, following Kirk’s murder at Utah Valley University, Vice President JD Vance urged Americans to report any “terrorist sympathizers” who were openly celebrating the assassination.
“When you see someone celebrating Charlie’s murder, call them out. And hell, call their employer,” advised Vance. “We don’t believe in political violence, but we do believe in civility. And there is no civility in the celebration of political assassination.”
Hundreds of employees, including dozens of teachers and military personnel, were fired for celebrating Kirk’s assassination.
