Trump Announces There Will Be ‘Others’ Who Get Indicted After Comey

President Donald Trump took questions from reporters on Friday outside the White House, many of which focused on the federal indictment against ex-FBI Director James Comey for alleged leaking.

Trump began with some brief remarks, expressing his excitement for the upcoming Ryder Cup and introducing his granddaughter Kai, who was with him.

“I think we have maybe a deal on Gaza, very close to a deal in Gaza,” Trump said before calling on reporters.

“I think it’s a deal that we’ll get the hostages back. It’s going to be a deal that will end the war. It’s gonna be a deal with—it’s gonna be peace. I think we have a deal. That’ll be number eight, Peter,” Trump said, directing his remarks to Fox News’s Peter Doocy.

A different reporter asked a question, “Now that James Comey has been indicted, who is the next person on your list in this retribution?”

Comey was indicted after Trump publicly pressured his Attorney General Pam Bondi to start indicting his political foes – an unprecedented move that has set off alarm bells across the country.

“It’s not a list, but I think there’ll be others. I mean, they’re corrupt. These were corrupt, radical Democrats,” Trump said, adding:

Because Comey essentially was—he’s worse than a Democrat. I would say the Democrats are better than Comey. But no, there’ll be others. Look, it was—that’s my opinion. They weaponized the Justice Department like nobody in history. What they’ve done is terrible. And so I would—I hope they’re, frankly, I hope there are others, because you can’t let this happen to a country.

Many legal analysts, including Fox News’s Andrew McCarthy, have poured cold water on the charges against Comey, arguing he is essentially being prosecuted for a leak that has previously been investigated as not having been committed by him.
