James Comey Tears Into Barr for ‘Sliming His Own Department’: Trump ‘Has Enough Spokespeople’

Attorney General Bill Barr was criticized today for his comments during a Fox News interview about the Russia probe, and it appears former FBI director James Comey was watching too.

Comey, who recently penned an op-ed on Barr regarding how President Donald Trump eats away at the souls of those who work for him, was a little more direct in blasting the AG tonight.

“The AG should stop sliming his own Department,” Comey tweeted Friday night. “If there are bad facts, show us, or search for them professionally and then tell us what you found. An AG must act like the leader of the Department of Justice, an organization based on truth. Donald Trump has enough spokespeople.”

Comey also asked “Who will stand up?” in response to Trump declaring “TREASON” this morning:

My Campaign for President was conclusively spied on. Nothing like this has ever happened in American Politics. A really bad situation. TREASON means long jail sentences, and this was TREASON!

Comey recently went off on former Deputy AG Rod Rosenstein and said he’s not a man of strong character.

Rosenstein fired back by saying Comey’s turned into a “partisan pundit” selling books.
