Journalist Aaron Rupar called Trump’s alleged attempt “very conspicuous,” while others claimed photos of Trump’s swelling pointed to a serious heart condition rather than the “chronic venous insufficiency” claimed by the White House.
In June, press secretary Karoline Leavitt addressed concerns over Trump’s swollen ankles and hand bruising following media speculation.
“Bilateral lower extremity venous Doppler ultrasounds were performed and revealed chronic venous insufficiency, a benign and common condition, particularly in individuals over the age of 70,” Leavitt said, adding, “Importantly, there was no evidence of deep vein thrombosis or arterial disease.”
Leavitt claimed the hand bruising was the result of “minor soft tissue irritation from frequent handshaking, and the use of aspirin.”
Some on social media suggested that Trump’s recurring bruise was the result of some sort of IV infusion he’s receiving each month.
The White House hasn’t commented on this round of speculation on the president’s health.
