‘Quiet! Quiet!’ Angry Trump Shuts Down Reporter’s Jeffrey Epstein Question

President Donald Trump shut down a reporter who attempted to ask a question regarding the Department of Justice’s files on late child sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein.

This week, the House Oversight Committee released thousands of emails to and from Epstein, who authorities say committed suicide in a jail cell in 2019. In one 2011 email from Epstein to the author Michael Woff, he alleged that Trump “knew about the girls.” The email did not elaborate, but given Epstein’s penchant for underage girls, the remark has raised serious questions about Trump’s knowledge of Epstein’s activities.

In another email, Epstein said President Donald Trump, a friend of Epstein’s who was then a private citizen, “spent hours at my house” with a person whose name had been redacted and who Democrats on the committee instead labeled as “Victim.” Republicans on the committee cried foul, saying that the name was that of Virginia Giuffre, who said she never witnessed Trump do anything untoward. Giuffre died by suicide this year. Elsewhere, Epstein claimed he “gave” his ex-girlfriend to Trump.

On Friday, Trump took questions from reporters on Air Force One, where one of them asked if he understood what Epstein’s comment about Trump being aware of “the girls” meant:

REPORTER: Mr. President, what did Jeffrey Epstein mean in emails when he said you “knew about the girls”?

TRUMP: I know nothing about that. They would’ve announced that a long time ago. It’s really, what did he mean when he spent all the time with Bill Clinton, with the president of Harvard, who you know, that is Summers, Larry Summers, whatever his name is, and all of the other people that he spent time with.

Jeffrey Epstein and I had a very bad relationship for many years, but he also saw a strength because I was president. So he dictated a couple of memos to himself. Give me a break. You gotta find out what did he know with respect to Bill Clinton, with respect to the head of Harvard, with the respect of all of those people that he knew, including JPMorgan Chase.

REPORTER: Sir, if there’s nothing incriminating in the files–

TRUMP: Quiet! Quiet!

The president moved on to another reporter who asked about Venezuela.

Over the summer, Attorney General Pam Bondi reversed course on releasing the Department of Justice’s files on Epstein. After claiming in February that Epstein’s client list was “sitting on my desk right now,” she later said there was no such list. Trump has rejected calls to release the files about his former friend. Bondi reportedly told Trump his name is in the files.

On Tuesday, the House is scheduled to vote on whether to demand the DOJ release the files.
