Donald Trump’s transition to a second term in the White House will be televised.

Justin Wells, a longtime producer for Tucker Carlson, spent the last few months filming Art of the Surge: The Donald Trump Comeback, a docuseries on Trump’s successful campaign for president.

Now, Wells will keep the cameras on to film a second season focused on the transition, Mediaite has learned.

The first season, which was produced by Wells’s Ahsokan Studios and distributed on social media platform X and the Tucker Carlson Network before it was picked up by Apple TV, ended before election day.

Wells said in a statement to Mediaite that the second season will span from the election through the inauguration.

Wells said: “How did Donald Trump achieve the most significant political comeback in history? The first six episodes give viewers and voters unprecedented access to Trump and his team from early this summer through his return to Butler on October 5th. In Season Two, we’re bringing Americans as close as they can get to President Trump for his final month of campaigning, throughout election day, backstage on election night and now as he builds a team and heads to Washington for the inauguration. There’s more ‘Art of the Surge’ on the way.”

Wells previously told CNN’s Reliable Sources that new episodes of the series would be on the way.

If Trump’s first term in office is any indication, the Trump White House will be dramatic. One Trump insider granted anonymity to speak candidly predicted his administration will be a “reality show.” They also said Trump will “cast” his team to have telegenic appeal.

Wells was the executive producer of Carlson’s erstwhile Fox News show until the network fired its top star last year. Carlson launched an independent venture, Tucker Carlson Network, for which Wells now consults.

Another Trump insider said there’s been interest from linear and digital outlets in distributing the docuseries. “All the big players are definitely interested,” they said. “For linear it’s an opportunity to break through with non-traditional news programming that feels more like a TV show that could drive an audience, and unique perspective and access that’s never been seen in any presidential campaign.”

The show has attracted an audience. The first season currently ranks #2 on Apple TV’s top chart, behind only the latest season of mega-hit Yellowstone.

The Trump insider added the show is “an opportunity to acknowledge more than half the country would like to consume this content. And the show is not even political. It shows you how stuff happens behind the scenes. So even if someone hated Trump, it’s an education on how all this came to be a week ago.”
