Trump Bizarrely Declares, ‘Israel, I Believe, Has to Defeat’ Kamala Harris
Former President Donald Trump said it is incumbent upon Israel to defeat Vice President Kamala Harris in November’s election somehow.
Trump addressed the right-wing Israeli-American Council in Washington, D.C. on Thursday night. The organization has received funding from Miriam Adelson and her late husband Sheldon Adelson, the casino mogul.
In his remarks, Trump complained about not getting enough support from Jewish voters despite moving the U.S. embassy in Israel from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem and his work on the Abraham Accords, which normalized relations between Israel and a handful of Muslim-majority states. He added that November’s election “is the most important election in the history of Israel.”
Bizarrely, he also called on Israel to “defeat” the Democratic presidential nominee.
“Now, we’re going to defeat Kamala Harris,” Trump said. “You have to defeat Kamala Harris. More than any other people on Earth, Israel, I believe, has to defeat her. You know that? And I’ve never said this before. And I’m thinking, Miriam, more than any people on Earth, Israel has to defeat her. I really believe that. It’s a disaster for Israel, and you know why.”
Since the Oct. 7 attacks last year, the Biden-Harris administration has sent a constant flow of weapons into Israel as it wages war Gaza, even twice bypassing Congress to send arms. The unrelenting support has rankled some Democrats, who have deemed Israel’s actions in Gaza war crimes. This week, Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) said he will introduce resolutions to block $20 billion in arms sales to Israel.
