Trump Says ‘It’s Going Very Well’ Amid Public Brawl With Musk

President Donald Trump insisted everything is copasetic despite an hours-long public feud with Elon Musk on Thursday.
Trouble started when Musk, who spent nearly $300 million to return Trump to the White House, publicly opposed the president’s “big, beautiful bill” being considered in the Senate, calling it “a disgusting abomination” this week. On Truth Social on Thursday, Trump said Musk had been “wearing thin” as the head of the “Department of Government Efficiency” and claimed Musk “went CRAZY” when the president asked him to leave the government when his term as a special government employee ended. Musk, in turn, said Trump should be impeached and claimed the president is in the files of deceased child sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein. Trump also threatened to cancel federal contracts with Musk’s SpaceX.
On Thursday night, the former Trump administration official appeared to signal he’d play nice after a random X account advised him to cool it. “Good advice,” the billionaire replied.
Now, according to Politico, Trump and Musk are set to speak via phone on Friday to hash matters out.
“President Donald Trump projected an air of nonchalance in an interview Thursday with POLITICO during a day of sparring over social media with Elon Musk,” Dasha Burns reported. “Separately, White House aides, after working to persuade the president to temper his public criticism of Musk to avoid escalation, scheduled a call Friday with the billionaire CEO of Tesla to broker a peace.”
Burns said she spoke briefly with Trump via phone.
“Oh it’s okay,” Trump told the publication. “It’s going very well, never done better.”
