WATCH: Pam Bondi Totally Dodges Epstein Question During Press Conference
Attorney General Pam Bondi made it clear she wasn’t interested in answering questions about Jeffrey Epstein during a press conference.
On Tuesday, Bondi held the presser to discuss the Justice Department’s efforts to combat drug cartels and curb the flow of drugs into the United States. When they opened the conference to questions, the very first one was about Epstein.
“[President Donald Trump] said that he would support you releasing additional, credible evidence from the Epstein investigation,” the reporter said. “Is that something that you are open to doing?”
Bondi declined to answer.
“Today is about fentanyl,” she said. “This is about a wall of people right outside this room who have died for — I appreciate your question, but this today is about fentanyl overdoses throughout our country and people who have lost loved ones to fentanyl. That’s the message that we’re here to send today — nothing about Epstein. I’m not gonna talk about Epstein.”
Last week, Bondi’s DOJ essentially closed the book on the Epstein case when it released a memo stating his rumored list of sex trafficking associates did not actually exist. The decision has divided cabinet officials and supporters of the administration. Some even considered resigning if Bondi didn’t step down as attorney general.
