Pop star Ariana Grande drew a response from the Trump White House’s communications team with a post on her Instagram account blasting ICE raids and the administration’s stance on trans rights.
Grande shared a post Sunday from liberal activist Matt Bernstein that included a paragraph that said, “It’s been 250 days. Now that immigrants have been violently torn from their families and communities have been destroyed, now that trans people have been blamed for virtually everything and live in fear, now that free speech is on the brink of collapse for us all — has your life gotten better?”
Entertainment Weekly received a statement from the White House on the Wicked star’s political statement online. White House Deputy Press Secretary Kush Desai replied to Grande by quoting some of her most famous songs back to her, including “Save Your Tears.”
“Save your tears, Ariana. Because President Trump’s actions ended Joe Biden’s inflation crisis and are bringing in trillions in new investment,” Desai said, adding:
He even signed an executive order just like magic that paved the way for the FTC to crack down on Ticketmaster for ripping off Ariana Grande’s concert-going fans. Get well soon, Ariana!
Inflation continues to be an issue in the country. Cleveland Federal Reserve President Beth Hammack told CNBC on Monday that “On the inflation side right now, I continue to be worried about where we are from an inflation perspective.”
“We have been missing our mandate on the inflation side, our objective of 2%, for more than 4½ years and I continue to see that we have pressure in inflation both in the headline, in the core, and particularly,” she added.
