Detroit Pistons center Isaiah Stewart was arrested for punching Phoenix Suns forward Drew Eubanks in the parking lot before their game Wednesday, The Athletic reported.

According to police, Stewart and Eubanks got into an argument as they arrived at Phoenix’s Footstep Arena. The verbal argument then escalated to a physical altercation when Stewart punched the 27-year-old. Stewart, 22, was arrested after detectives arrived to investigate the incident. He was later released.

“The attack on Drew Eubanks was unprovoked, and acts of violence such as this are unacceptable,” a Suns spokesperson told The Athletic. “We unequivocally support Drew, and will continue to work with local law enforcement and the NBA.”

The NBA is expected to receive and review footage of the incident.

As noted by The Athletic, the two players have history. When the Suns and the Pistons played on Nov. 5, Stewart and Eubanks jawed at one another throughout the game.

Aside from that incident, Stewart has been involved in a handful of contentious exchanges in his young career. Earlier this season, Stewart and Golden State Warriors star Draymond Green got into it while jostling for position under the rim.

A few years earlier, Stewart bulldozed through multiple staffers to get to Lakers star LeBron James. He and James were both suspended.
