Gayle King Completely Throws Charles Barkley Under The Bus By Reading His Comments On The Warriors To Coach Steve Kerr

Veteran journalist Gayle King established on the very first episode of King Charles that she has no problem making things awkward for co-host Charles Barkley.

The duo debuted the CNN talk show Thursday night and welcomed Golden State Warriors coach Steve Kerr as their first-ever guest. Just a day before, however, Barkley had harsh words for Kerr’s team when he called them “cooked” and implied they were getting too old to truly contend for another NBA championship.

When Kerr appeared on the show, King was eager to put Barkley on the spot.

“I know many people who play under you have nothing but great, positive things to say,” King said to Kerr, “but I saw a comment about the game last night, Charles. Do you recall what someone said about the Warriors game last night?”

A noticeably fidgety Barkley then reiterated that the team was old and, given how long they’ve been playing at a high level, it was inevitable the decline would come soon. He put it in much nicer terms with Kerr listening.

That’s when King finally decided to stop being around the bush.

“Yeah, but didn’t you make a comment about the Warriors last night?” she replied. “Didn’t I see a post from you last night about getting ‘cooked’? Steve, did you see that, Steve?”

Barkley interjected to tell Kerr not to “believe everything you read on the internet” even though he used those exact words on live TV the night before.

Still, Kerr simply played it off and assured everyone he’s used to Barkley’s unfiltered comments.

“I did not see it,” Kerr said in reference to the clip, “but I’m OK with it. I’m used to Charles’ comments. I’m OK with it.

“I also remember you claimed you were misquoted in your own autobiography. I remember that, too.”
