Trump Dredges Up His ‘Rigged’ 2020 Election Claim in Fox News Interview and All But Dares Them to Edit it Out: ‘Fox Might Want to Cut That’
Former President Donald Trump gave Fox News an “out” if they didn’t want to air him claiming the 2020 election was “rigged” during a sit-down interview with Howard Kurtz on his MediaBuzz show Sunday.
“So, you know, we ended up winning,” Trump said about his 2016 victory, adding, “we did much better in 2020. You know, I did millions and millions of votes more in 2020. I did much better. And you can cut this if you want, but the election was rigged. You know, Fox may want to cut that one out, that’s OK.”
Kurtz interjected, “Well, I would jut say, that hasn’t been proven in court.”
“Well, it was so rigged, it was so crazy, but we’re going to do it again,” Trump claimed.
Fox News settled with Dominion Voting Systems for $787.5 million last year after suing the Rupert Murdoch-owned company for defamation. Several current and former Fox News personalities were mentioned in the suit for promoting Trump’s conspiracy theory, including Tucker Carlson. Fox faces a second lawsuit by another voting systems company, Smartmatic — which is seeking $2.7 billion in damages.
After that excerpt of the interview was played, Kurtz — back in the studio — added that a, “majority of Republicans believe Trump’s insistence that the 2020 election was stolen, but there is no independent evidence of widespread fraud.”
Earlier in the interview, Trump claimed, “See, I have a theory: People in Beverly Hills vote for me, but they don’t talk about it.”
Trump said he was assured he’d “win big” in 2016, “because there’s a group of people that say, ‘Don’t ask me, don’t ask me that question.’ It’s a much rougher word than that, it’s a word that I won’t use on television. I can’t, I will get decimated if I use it, but they tell the person a certain thing. But let’s be nice. They say, ‘Don’t ask me that.’ Anybody that says essentially, ‘Don’t ask me that,’ is Trump voter. And it was the largest number of ‘don’t ask me that’ voters ever, ever, ever.”
