Trump Lashes Out at Media and ‘Democrat Partners’ for Allegedly Lying About ‘Bloodbath’ Controversy: ‘They Fully Understood’ What I Meant

Former President Donald Trump lashed out at the media and their “Democrat Partners in the destruction of our Nation” on Truth Social Monday for allegedly lying about what he meant when he used the word “bloodbath” at a rally in Ohio on Saturday.

Trump posted on Truth Social:

The Fake News Media, and their Democrat Partners in the destruction of our Nation, pretended to be shocked at my use of the word BLOODBATH, even though they fully understood that I was simply referring to imports allowed by Crooked Joe Biden, which are killing the automobile industry,” argued Trump. “The United Auto Workers, but not their leadership, fully understand what I mean. With the Electric Car Mandate being pushed by Biden, there soon won’t be any cars made in the USA – UNLESS I’M ELECTED PRESIDENT, IN WHICH CASE AUTO MANUFACTURING WILL THRIVE LIKE NEVER BEFORE!!! MAGA2024.”

At the rally, Trump made the comment while castigating the Democratic Party for wanting to produce “all electric” cars as well as for facilitating the outsourcing of auto manufacturing from the United States.

Addressing Chinese dictator Xi Jinping, Trump promised to implement a 100% tariff on cars produced in Chinese-owned manufacturing plants in China.

“Those big monster car manufacturing plants that you’re building in Mexico right now, and you think you’re going to get that, you’re going to not hire Americans and you’re going to sell the cars as now we’re going to put a 100% tariff on every single car that comes across the line, and you’re not going to be able to sell those guys if I get elected,” said Trump. “If I get elected. Now, if I don’t get elected, it’s gonna be a bloodbath for the whole- that’s gonna be the least of it, it’s gonna be a bloodbath for the country. That’ll be the least of it. But they’re not gonna sell those cars.”

While Trump did make the comment while discussing auto manufacturing, his aside that “That’ll be the least of it” as well as his reaction to his loss in 2020 compelled many in the media to take him literally.

“Well, if they want us to consider the full context, let’s do just that. Because ;the full context’ is the Trump kicked off the same exact rally by saluting the people who were convicted for the deadly assault on the U.S. Capitol on January 6th, all to the tune of the National Anthem sung by a choir of imprisoned insurrectionists,” argued MSNBC host and former Biden flack Jen Psaki.

The New Yorker‘s Susan Glasser, meanwhile, submitted that “When the former president, who has already incited violence among his followers, says that there’s going to be a bloodbath, what, after the election, if he does not win, he is telling us what he is going to do.”

Conservatives, on the other hand, have the media with intentionally misrepresenting Trump.

“The fact that MSNBC is still running the debunked “bloodbath” story today is all you need to know about the media in America,” mused former congressman Doug Collins on Monday morning. “This is exactly why Americans have zero faith in our news media.”
