After Other Fox Hosts Dismiss Trump KKK Flap, Megyn Grills Huckabee for Defending Him
On Fox News’ The Five earlier today, most of the hosts defended Donald Trump in the controversy over his refusal to disavow David Duke. All three of them dismissed it as silly liberal media bias. Hours later, Bill O’Reilly dismissed it as a “complete non-story” because Trump isn’t a racist.
But on The Kelly File tonight, not only did Kelly take this controversy more seriously than her colleagues, but she actually did a pretty tough interview with the man defending Trump on this, Mike Huckabee.
Kelly said it was “strange” for Trump to act like he didn’t know who David Duke was. Huckabee invoked Trump’s excuse that his earpiece wasn’t working, but Kelly didn’t buy that, saying, “But Trump heard!”
Huckabee hedged a bit, but Kelly again said he clearly heard what Jake Tapper said because he repeated large parts of it.
She even brought up how just two days ago, Trump had suggested that a judge in the Trump University case is biased against him because he’s Hispanic.
