Alan Dershowitz spoke with CNN’s Michael Smerconish this morning about the big Supreme Court announcement coming very soon, and somehow the conversation segued into Martha’s Vineyard.
To recap: Dershowitz recently wrote that he’s being shunned by friends in Martha’s Vineyard for his almost-daily defenses of President Donald Trump mostly regarding the Mueller probe. Dershowitz subsequently insisted on Twitter he’s “reveling not whining.”

As he talked to Smerconish this morning about who he would advise Trump to pick for the Supreme Court, Smerconish said, “I think that answer just cost you three more invitations on Martha’s Vineyard.”
“Well, that’s okay, I don’t mind that,” Dershowitz responded. “Look, I’m winning the battle on Martha’s Vineyard. The people on Martha’s Vineyard are reasonable and decent and they have begun to really condemn the small number of people who have said, ‘Look, because you have spent your life defending everybody’s civil liberties, we’re gonna stop talking to you.'”
Dershowitz insisted again that he would have been just as defensive of Hillary Clinton if she won and was being scrutinized in the same way as Trump is.
He railed against “small-minded intolerance” and said what’s happening to him is like what’s happening to conservatives on college campuses today.
