Bill O’Reilly Warns Trump ‘Should Be Concerned’ Over Economy, ‘Beef With Canada’

Former Fox News host Bill O’Reilly warned President Donald Trump he “should be concerned” by growing fears over the economy and America’s “beef with Canada,” Monday.

“I think he should be concerned with the fear factor, certainly, and he should be looking to reassure Americans,” said O’Reilly on NewsNation’s On Balance. “I don’t know if that would have any kind of immediate soothing formula, but you have to calm everything down and then you have to explain.”

He continued, “Just take Canada for example. You know, why the beef with Canada? Just explain it so even I can understand it. I don’t think that the White House has done that.”

O’Reilly went on to tell NewsNation host Leland Vittert:

The problem that the White House has now is they’re just ramping up and the explanations sometimes are murky, and Donald Trump takes it all on himself, and I think I would throw somebody out there who’s a calm, you know, credible economist and say, “Look, our beef with Canada is that they slap dairy product tariffs and energy tariffs on us way more than they have to and they’re just greedy up there, and they’re just reaping a lot of money, taking it from us when they could be more fair. But we’ll get a deal with them that’s more fair.”

“That’s how you reassure because they will get a deal with Canada,” he concluded. “I absolutely guarantee they will.”
