Brooke Baldwin: Is Sean Spicer Rethinking His Resignation Now that Scaramucci’s Gone?
As CNN reacted to the news that Anthony Scaramucci has been removed as White House Communications Director, their panel held a discussion about whether former Press Secretary Sean Spicer might reverse on his imminent departure from the Trump Administration.
When Spicer resigned from his role weeks ago, he stated that he would remain with the White House for a brief period to put the communications team in order. This came around the same time when reports came out about how Spicer opposed President Trump‘s decision to bring Scaramucci into the administration.
Brooke Baldwin asked her panel to discuss the news today, and Brian Stelter examined how the development presents itself as the latest major shakeup in the administration’s press and strategy teams. As the conversation continued, Baldwin pondered whether Spicer’s resignation is set in stone.
“I wonder if Spicer is having second thoughts with Scaramucci out of the shop,” Baldwin said. “Is there a possibility he’s going to say, hit the brakes, record scratch, I may want to stay at the White House because this guy is gone?”
Stelter told her that Spicer is already facing questions on that account, but the White House has declined to comment on the matter.
