CNN Hires April Ryan Days After Confrontation With Sean Spicer

CNN hired journalist April Ryan on Monday as a political analyst. The move came just days after the American Urban Radio Networks correspondent sparred with White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer.

The heated exchange led to many accusations of sexism and/or racism against Spicer.

The Hill covered CNN’s hiring of Ryan in a Monday article. The publication noted that Ryan “drew controversy in February after accusing President Trump of implying that ‘white America’ made this country” (Mediaite was among the first to report on her remarks).

Ryan posted on Twitter about her new role at CNN, and subsequently re-tweeted others congratulating her over the announcement. Interestingly, many came from prominent liberal pundits/journalists on MSNBC:
