Greek PM Asked if He Still Thinks Trump is ‘Evil’ During Joint Press Conference
Fox News’ John Roberts put Alexis Tsipras in an incredibly awkward situation today when he asked the Greek prime minister about some unflattering comments he made about President Trump last year.
During the 2016 election, Tsipras expressed concerned about Trump’s political rise and said the mogul reflected an “evil” ideology. Tsipras was asked about this in the middle of his joint press event with the president, which prompted Trump to snark about how he wish he knew about this before he complimented the prime minister at the start of the conference.
Tsipras said he had a productive discussion with the president earlier in the White House, and that he never felt “threatened” at any point today. Tsipras also said it was important to put aside political differences and focus on common values to achieve a positive international collaboration.
After Tsipras finished his answer, Trump interjected to talk up his relationships with foreign leaders despite the international nervousness surrounding his presidency. He also insisted once again that other nations will not be able to take advantage of the country anymore.
