Hannity Goes On a Tear Against Sessions: ‘Are You Part of the Swamp?’

Sean Hannity tonight went off on Attorney General Jeff Sessions over Justice Department “stonewalling.”

Republican frustrations with the DOJ have reached a boiling point, with plans to impeach Rod Rosenstein in the works and Devin Nunes threatening to hold AG Jeff Sessions in contempt of Congress for not handing over documents connected to the Russia case.

Nunes appeared with Hannity tonight, but before the interview, Hannity expressed his outrage at documents being “slow-walked and withheld, or massively redacted.”

Sessions responded to Nunes today by saying that the request is “not grantable.”

Hannity sent a direct message to Sessions in response:

“Mr. Attorney General, I say this with all respect: where is your urgency? You need to do your job. This has gone on way too long! These are legitimate, important requests. You are not impervious, nor the DOJ impervious, to the rule of law and our federal system, co-equal branches of power and checks and balances.”

“If the Attorney General,” he continued, “does not take significant measures to find urgency and speed up the delivery of these… documents, then it is time for Sessions, Rosenstein, and anyone else who is obstructing Congress’ investigation to be held in contempt and face the serious legal consequences associated with it.”

He then spoke directly to Sessions and Rosenstein: “Are you part of the swamp? Are you part of the deep state?”
