Hannity Rants About Steele Dossier and Memos: ‘It Gets Confusing, But It Makes Sense’
Tonight, Fox News’ Sean Hannity breathlessly started his program by declaring that there was so much breaking news when it came to the Deep State and the Destroy Trump Media and the Real Russian Collusion that “it’s going to take five hours, but we only have one.”
Jumping right into it, the Fox News host explained that GOP Sens. Lindsey Graham and Chuck Grassley had released a redacted copy of their criminal referral against former British spy Christopher Steele that showed that Steele was working with the Obama administration and Clinton allies to put together a second dossier.
Telling himself numerous times that he needed to slow down to make sure his audience understood, Hannity said that besides Hillary Clinton “buying and paying a bought and paid for a 12 plus million dollar phony, fake news Russian propaganda dossier to influence the election, if that’s not bad enough, you have Clinton associates and the Obama state Department funneling allegations for a second dossier to Christopher Steele.”
After stating that the Graham-Grassley memo shows that Steele briefed several mainstream outlets in 2016 — or “fake news outlets,” as Hannity made sure to note — the Fox News host then brought up the news that the House Intelligence Committee had voted to release the Democrats rebuttal memo. He used this as an opportunity to rail against Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA), the ranking member on the committee.
“Sources have been telling us tonight that Congressman Adam Schiff, the Democratic ranking member of the — he’s outright lying to the American people in what’s in the counter to the Nunes memo,” Hannity said.
He then looked up and gave us this quote: “It gets confusing, but it makes sense.”
Without missing a beat, Hannity then went on tearing into Schiff while claiming the congressman was auditioning for a role on “conspiracy TV MSNBC.”
