Is Trump Spending Saturday Afternoon Watching Fox News? New Tweets Point to Yes

This afternoon, President Donald Trump sent out some tweets about a days-old news story regarding House Judiciary Republicans expressing anger and frustration that the Department of Justice had missed a Thursday subpoena deadline on turning over documents. Conservatives on the committee are requesting documents related to possible FISA abuses and the FBI’s investigation into Hillary Clinton’s email server, and are incensed they’ve only received a tiny portion of the documents they are seeking.

In back-to-back tweets today, the president wrote the committee members “are angrily accusing the Department of Justice of missing the Thursday Deadline for turning over UNREDACTED Documents relating to FISA abuse, FBI, Comey, Lynch, McCabe, Clinton Emails and much more.” He also referenced a tweet from earlier this week when he stated that the DOJ seems is be “slow walking.”

He further asked what the DOJ and FBI “have to hide” and why they weren’t “giving the strongly requested documents” to the committee. Trump then accused the department and bureau of stalling.

So why did Trump suddenly decide to comment on this, considering that this is a two-day-old story? It would appear that it was due to Fox News devoting a segment to it about a half-hour beforehand.

Former federal prosecutor Robert Ray showed up at 4:21 PM ET on Fox to discuss the missed deadline and what documents the DOJ is being asked to turn over. This included speculation about whether or not the department is trying to hide something.

Yep, it certainly dies seems like the president is spending his afternoon watching Fox News. And it would also appear that we have yet another example of the Fox News feedback loop when it comes to Trump.
