Fallon Hits Back at Trump: Melania, ‘I Don’t Think Your Anti-Bullying Campaign is Working’

Jimmy Fallon took some shots at President Donald Trump after he went after the comedian on Twitter over the weekend.

This spat began when Fallon expressed regret over Trump’s Tonight Show appearance during the 2016 election when he famously messed with the candidate’s hair.

“It’s all in the fun of the show. I made a mistake. I’m sorry if I made anybody mad,” Fallon told The Hollywood Reporter. “And, looking back, I would do it differently.”

That inspired the president to go after him on Twitter, telling him to “be a man.”

That tweet inspired Fallon to make a donation to a non-profit for the separated migrant families in his name.

And while he hasn’t responded to Trump’s latest remarks about him at the South Carolina rally since his show was recorded beforehand, the Tonight Show host fired back at the president by giving a “shoutout” to “our show’s #1 fan.”

“As you may have heard, the President of the United States went after me on Twitter,” Fallon told his audience. “So Melania, if you’re watching, I don’t think your anti-bullying campaign is working.”

Fallon added that he thought about responding to him on Twitter, but he had “more important things to do.”

“But then I thought, ‘shouldn’t he have more important things to do?!?'” Fallon laughed.

He also joked that being attacked on Twitter is the “pretty much the only thing” he has in common “with NFL players.”
