Jimmy Kimmel is Convinced VP Mike Pence Wrote NYT Op-Ed

On Wednesday night, Jimmy Kimmel speculated as to who is behind the bombshell New York Times op-ed written by an anonymous senior official in the Trump White House.

Kimmel began by reading a substantial amount of the op-ed to his audience, which he called “remarkable.”

“And I have to say, I’m surprised by how good of a writer Ivanka Trump is,” Kimmel joked.

He pointed out “the most interesting theory” that has floated around on social media that surrounds one particular word: “lodestar.”

We may no longer have John McCain. But we always have his example – a lodestar for restoring honor to public life…”

“It’s not a common word, ‘lodestar.’ Not a lot of people use that word,” Kimmel told his audience. “But you know who uses that word? This guy!”

Kimmel then played a montage of Vice President Mike Pence using the word “lodestar.”

“That’s right, Michael Elizabeth Pence uses the word ‘lodestar,'” Kimmel reacted. “Wouldn’t that be something it was Mike Pence?”

He insisted that the mystery behind the NYT op-ed is going to drive President Donald Trump “absolutely nuts.”

“Could you imagine what it must be like to have a job at which almost everybody who works for you thinks you’re a complete idiot? Kimmel asked. “I can! I’ll tell you something, it’s no fun at all!”

Kimmel also mocked the president for repeatedly dismissing Bob Woodward‘s new book Fear as a “work of fiction” over and over and over again.
