Joe Scarborough Calls Out Trump’s Fascism, MAGA Victimhood: ‘They Are Such Weak Snowflakes!’

Joe Scarborough went all in as he openly pronounced Donald Trump a fascist leading a political movement fueled by aggrieved victimhood.

Scarborough led Morning Joe on Tuesday in a discussion of a New York Times review of Trump’s rhetoric and political goals and how they resemble authoritarian leaders of the past and present. The article focuses on Trump’s hypernationalism, cult of personality, and threatening promises of vengeance against his foes in order to revive the comparison between his movement and fascism.

While the Times notes that Trump’s allies often write off fascism accusations from critics as “alarmism and cynical,” Scarborough scoffed at those who were “just too offended, or maybe, perhaps too delicate to call a fascist a fascist.” Scarborough also dove into Trump’s sadistic tendencies by listing numerous examples where the former president delighted in violence toward his political opponents.

“I just want to go through again this New York Times article and let’s just go through them because it’s time that fascism is called fascism,” Scarborough said. “I’ve heard people poo-poo this, you know, ‘Oh, people on the far left.’ No! I’m a conservative. I’m on the right. There’s a difference between conservatism, radicalism, and fascism. This is fascism.”

Scarborough was especially interested in what historian Peter Hayes told the Times about how fascist leaders inspire a sense of victimhood in their followers to justify their actions and thirst for vengeance. As far as Scarborough could see, it fits Trump perfectly.

The whining, the snowflakery coming from the Trump people. I mean, a snowflake falls on their shoulders and they’re victimized. And they’re victimized by history books on Hank Aaron. They’re victimized by kids books on Roberto Clemente. They’re victimized by tweets. They’re victims. You name it. They are victimized by everything. They are such weak snowflakes, and they’re using that victimization to justify violence against their opponents.
