Kellyanne Conway: Everybody Who Said Trump Wouldn’t Win ‘Tried to Interfere in the Election’
No interference. No interference. YOU’RE the interference!
At the end of yet another combative interview with CNN’s Chris Cuomo, White House counselor Kellyanne Conway attempted to flip the script on the notion that the Trump campaign colluded with Russian officials to meddle in the 2016 presidential election.
Pointing to polling, Conway told Cuomo that Russian election interference wasn’t a “top five issue,” suggesting the story isn’t worth the news coverage it has received since the public is more concerned about other matters.
“It’s inarguably important and you don’t always do what’s popular,” Cuomo shot back. “Sometimes you do what’s right. Somebody messing with your democracy deserves covering.”
We then got this absolutely amazing response from Conway:
“Let me tell you something. Everybody who said Donald Trump couldn’t win, everybody who said the election was all wrapped up, every screaming headline, every wrong poll, every anchor, every pundit who said this is over, it’s a joke, he can’t win — tried to interfere in the election.”
The CNN anchor exclaimed “oh please” while stating that she was placing those two issues on the same level. Conway, as is her style, claimed she didn’t just do what everyone had just heard her do.
“I didn’t say they were the same thing,” she stated, adding that those on Twitter shouldn’t believe that either while telling them to “get out of bed” and “breathe air.”
“Nice, insult the audience,” Cuomo concluded, wrapping up the segment.
