‘Law & Disorder’: MSNBC’s Ari Melber to Host 100-Day Special on Trump’s Clashes With Judiciary

MSNBC anchor Ari Melber will mark the first 100 days of President Donald Trump’s presidency with a live special dissecting the president’s already numerous clashes with the judiciary.

The network tells Mediaite that Melber will host a live hour titled 100 Days of Trump: Law & Disorder on Friday, May 2, at 7 p.m. ET, examining “the most consequential legal moments” since the president’s return to the Oval Office.

The special will dig into Trump’s aggressive moves against key federal agencies, his administration’s pressure campaign on private law firms, and the growing pushback from the courts on immigration – including battles with the Supreme Court.

While Trump has insisted he would follow judicial orders, his second-term agenda has fueled fears from legal experts of a constitutional crisis through frequent battles with the courts.

Sweeping executive actions have triggered over 150 lawsuits, spanning immigration, transgender rights, and federal employment. Judges have repeatedly blocked major parts of his agenda, prompting Trump to rail against nationwide injunctions and even call for the impeachment of a federal judge — a move that even earned a rare public rebuke from Chief Justice John Roberts.

Speaking to Mediaite, Melber said:

President Trump has been testing the courts in these first 100 days more than any modern administration — including his own first term. We are aiming to do fair, probing reporting on what happens when a White House dares the courts to make it follow legal orders, and the impact of these clashes on everyone, regardless of ideology or politics. The stakes are clear, and it’s vital to cover these legal cases so people can make up their own minds about them, with all the facts.

Melber, who hosts MSNBC’s The Beat, will be joined in the special by MSNBC legal analysts Andrew Weissmann and Melissa Murray, and contributor Mary McCord.
