Lou Dobbs Defends Trump: ‘Asinine’ for Republicans to Attack Him Over McCain Comments
Fox Business’ Lou Dobbs came to President Donald Trump‘s defense today against the Republicans lambasting POTUS over his nasty comments about John McCain.
To recap, after seeing a report about McCain’s role in passing along the infamous dossier, Trump lashed out at the late senator again. This has been going on for a few days now, culminating in the president complaining today that he never got a “thank you” for McCain’s funeral.
Dobbs accused Republicans of “undercutting this president because he made some nasty remarks about John McCain.”
“There’s a reason for those nasty remarks!” Dobbs said. “There’s a history between those two men. And the people who are attacking––including Mitch McConnell––attacking the president for his views on John McCain is asinine.”
Dobbs is referring to this tweet by McConnell, which does not mention Trump one bit:
Today and every day I miss my good friend John McCain. It was a blessing to serve alongside a rare patriot and genuine American hero in the Senate. His memory continues to remind me every day that our nation is sustained by the sacrifices of heroes.

Ed Rollins, appearing with Dobbs, said Trump has every right to be upset with McCain over his dramatic health care vote, before knocking McCain for running “one of the worst presidential campaigns ever that elected Obama.”
“Trump did what he had to do and he won,” Rollins continued. “He won a big, big election against, allegedly, the toughest Democrat in modern times.”
