Meghan McCain Calls Out First Daughter’s Silence on Child Separation: ‘Where Is Ivanka?’

On The View this morning, Meghan McCain brought up Ivanka Trump to ask where she’s been on this issue of family separation at the border.

The outrage over separating children from their parents has only heightened in the past few days with the multiple different responses to it by President Trump and officials in his administration like Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen.

During the opening segment this morning, McCain pointed to legislation Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) introduced as a fix to this crisis, noting now there’s “a lot of people on the right pushing back on this.” Laura Bush spoke out against the policy yesterday, as well as every living current and former First Lady.

McCain also brought up the audio ProPublica obtained of children at a facility after being separated from their parents––with one agent joking “we have an orchestra here”––before calling out the First Daughter and senior adviser to the President:

“Where is Ivanka in all of this? Because she’s all for women and mothers and she has a White House role and a job. And I’m sort of interested that her whole platform has been women and mothers and she doesn’t have anything to say about this.”

President Trump, meanwhile, is still blaming the Democrats:
