Planned Parenthood President Defiant on MSNBC: GOPers Were Grasping at Straws

Planned Parenthood president Cecile Richards appeared on MSNBC tonight, defiant after being grilled by Congressional Republicans over several controversial videos, saying all they did was just grasp at straws.

Richards told Rachel Maddow they kept trying to change the subject to things like her salary because “it didn’t seem like they wanted to talk about any issues that were relevant to the topic at hand.”

She said she was personally “dismayed” by how little Republicans on the committee knew about women’s health.

Maddow said the attacks on Planned Parenthood have been “disingenuous” in nature, but also “politically effective.” Richards said it’s only effective amongst Republicans, and a “losing battle” for Americans in general.
