Sarah Sanders Snaps at April Ryan For Saying She Was ‘Blindsided’ By Giuliani: ‘You Don’t Know Much About Me’

Sarah Huckabee Sanders stepped up to the podium with a will of steel this afternoon, prepared as she could be to face the onslaught of press questions in the wake of the truly nutty news cycle last night and this morning.

Just in the past 24 hours, among many, many other things, we learned via Rudy Giuliani that President Donald Trump did, indeed – despite the latter’s assertions to the contrary – repay Michael Cohen for the $130,000 hush money the Trump lawyer gave to Stormy Daniels. We also learned from Giuliani that it seems Trump fired James Comey over the Russia investigation, which potentially further opens up the possibility that Trump engaged in obstruction of justice.

In light of this and other news, CNN contributor April Ryan asked Sanders: “At this point can you tell us definitively if the president plans to answer any questions from Bob Mueller and, if not, what is now in place at the White House to go through that process of a subpoena, a possible indictment and possible grand jury?”

In response, Sanders leaned back on an old mainstay: “Those are questions to refer to the outside counsel.”

“Okay, now going to Rudy Giuliani,” Ryan persisted. “Did Rudy Giuliani do harm to the president today and last night in his conversations to Fox?”

“I don’t believe so,” Sanders replied, trying desperately to move on to the next reporter. But Ryan would not be deterred.

“Why didn’t he talk to the White House press office about his impacting stellar statement about what was happening?” she asked.

“The White House press office wouldn’t coordinate with the president’s outside legal team on legal strategy,” Sanders said with a little smile.

“You said yourself you were blindsided,” Ryan replied, to which Sanders said she didn’t use that term.

“Well, I said it,” Ryan clarified. “But you were blindsided from what you said.”

“With all due respect you don’t know much about me in terms of what I feel and what I don’t,” Sanders shot back. “I think we’re done.”
