Shots Fired Into Republican Party Headquarters in Florida County

At least four shots were fired into the front of the Volusia County Republican Party office in South Daytona, Florida, police said on Monday morning.

The incident happened when no one was in the office, and authorities say the shots came sometime between last night and early this morning. WFTV reports a campaign worker arrived this morning, entering through the back entrance, and discovered the damage when she went into the front office.

WFTV’s Mike Springer reported on Twitter that police are stepping up patrols. “South Daytona PD will be doing extra patrols around the Democratic & Republican Headquarters after the shooting today,” he wrote. “PD says it appears the shots may have been fired from a handgun inside a vehicle.”
