Trump Claims Stock Market Will ‘Crash’ While Fox News Ticker Shows Massive Market Gains On Screen

Former President Donald Trump gave a lengthy speech on the economy from his golf club in New Jersey on Thursday and painted a dire picture of the U.S. economy, calling it a “nightmare” and claiming there would be a stock market crash if Kamala Harris is elected. As Trump spoke live on Fox News a ticker was shown in the bottom right of the screen tracking the stock market, which showed the Dow up almost 1.4 percent, some 554 points. The Dow Jones Industrial Average rallied to close at 40,563, while the Nasdaq ended up some 2.3 percent.

Trump attacked Harris and President Joe Biden making a series of claims about the economy. Trump claimed “100% of the net job creation in the last year is gone to migrants. You know that most of the job creation has gone to migrants. In fact, I’ve heard that substantially more than, beyond that, actually, beyond the number of 100%, it’s a much higher number than that. But the government hasn’t caught up with that yet.”

As he continued, Trump said, “If she’s elected, Social Security will fail. It’ll be a blow up like you’ve never seen before. It’ll be the bankruptcy of the entire system, probably the nation itself.”

“You don’t have to imagine what a Kamala Harris presidency would be, because you’re living through that nightmare right now. And it is a nightmare. It’s a nightmare. And you’re going to stop inflation, but we’re going to have a crash, and we’re going to have a crash like a 1929 crash if she gets in. You saw a gentleman yesterday who got up one of the top analysts in the world, frankly, and, said that if Trump is elected, he predicts and he’s predicting you have a stock market crash like 1929. He also said the only time and the only reason the stock market has gone up, even though it had some bad moments recently. But I think we’ll take, I think we’ll take a substantial lead,” Trump said.
