Trump Hails Vaccine as ‘Great’ and ‘Safe’ on Fox News: ‘I Would Recommend It’
There’s been a lot of public calls for former President Donald Trump to encourage people to get vaccines, and he did so on Fox News Tuesday night — after being directly asked by Maria Bartiromo.
Trump talked a lot about how vaccines were developed during his administration and swiped at Joe Biden a bit.
Bartiromo asked Trump about the fact that he got the vaccine in January — something that the public only learned of from reports a few weeks ago — and whether he would recommend to viewers that they get vaccinated too.
“I would. I would recommend it, and I would recommend it to a lot of people that don’t want to get it, and a lot of those people voted for me, frankly,” Trump said.
He then added, “But, you know, again, we have our freedoms and we have to live by that and I agree with that also. But it’s a great vaccine, it’s a safe vaccine, and it’s something that works.”
One major reason people have been calling for Trump to make comments like this was recent polling that found almost half of Republican men would not get the vaccine.
