Trump Suggests Senate Democrat is Heavy Drinker: I’ve Seen Them in ‘Compromising’ Situations

President Donald Trump held a wild press conference on Monday during which he suggested a Democrat on the Senate Judiciary Committee was a drinker who he has seen in “compromising” and “very bad situations.”

The presser was held to announce Trump’s new trade deal with Canada and Mexico. After shutting down a series of questions about his Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh, the president eventually unleashed on Democrats for their questions about the judge’s drinking.

“I think that he spoke very conclusively and very well,” Trump said of Kavanaugh’s testimony before the committee, in which he was grilled about his alleged heavy drinking in his youth. “Now they talk about alcohol.”

“They’re going back to high school and they’re saying that he drank a lot one evening in high school,” Trump said dismissively.

“I happen to know some United States senators,” Trump continued. “One who is on the other side, who’s pretty aggressive. I’ve seen that person in very bad situations. Okay? I’ve seen that person in very bad situations. Somewhat compromising. And I think it’s very unfair to bring up things like this.”

Later in the presser, Trump was asked who he was referring to. He said he would “save it for a book.”
