White House Chief of Staff John Kelly to Reportedly Resign in Coming Days
CNN White House correspondent Kaitlan Collins is reporting that President Donald Trump‘s Chief of Staff John Kelly is expected to resign in the coming days.
Kelly’s embattled relationship with Trump has led to numerous rumors that he was on his way out. But citing senior advisors who have spoken with both Trump and Kelly, Collins reports that this time, the resignation talk appears to be the real deal and that Trump is asking several people who should he hire to replace Kelly.
Collins reports that things have gotten so bad between the President and his Chief of Staff of late that the two aren’t even talking to one another.
Collins’ report that Kelly is departing the White House is buttressed by her fellow White House reporters — CBS’s Major Garrett and ABC’s Jon Karl — each of whom tweeted supporting reports:
Reinforcing widespread belief COS John Kelly soon out is his reported absence as of 7:35 am EDT from his West Wing office. Since beginning of tenure has been in office earlier, I am told.

I am told this morning’s White House senior staff meeting, which would have been led by John Kelly, has been cancelled.

Collins is also reporting that Trump is considering Nick Ayers as Kelly’s replacement — the current Chief of Staff for Vice President Mike Pence.
