Police Believe Body Pulled From Thames To Be Clapham Alkaline Attacker Abdul Ezedi

Ezedi’s body was found four miles from the location he was last seen in CCTV footage used in the police manhunt.
Police discovered a body in the River Thames Monday believed to be that of the fugitive Clapham alkaline attack suspect, Abdul Ezedi.
The 35-year-old convicted sex offender was subject of a national manhunt after he attacked a woman and her two young daughters with a corrosive substance in south London on January 31.
The woman remains hospitalised but in a stable condition, while her daughters, aged eight and three, have been discharged.
On Tuesday the Metropolitan Police said that it “strongly believes” the body near Tower Pier in Tower Hill, four miles from where the suspect was last seen, belonged to Ezedi based on his clothing. The body was spotted by a boat crew and retrieved from the water. However, the authorities noted that formal identification was challenging due to the condition of the body after being submerged and subjected to the Thames’ strong currents.
Ezedi was last seen on CCTV with a self-inflicted facial injury, and was believed by police to have thrown himself into the river in the hours after his attack.
