Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex, has officially made the U.S. his primary residence according to newly filed documents with Companies House.

The revelation comes in a filing made to the UK government’s official company registrar on Monday for sustainable tourism charity Travalyst Limited, which Harry founded. The duke, listed under his full name Prince Henry Charles Albert David Duke of Sussex, updated his residency status to ‘United States’ and backdated the change to June 29, 2023, the same day Buckingham Palace announced the Sussexes’ departure from Frogmore Cottage.

The couple left the cottage, a gift to them from the late Queen Elizabeth II, following tensions with other royals fuelled by accusations in his memoir, Spare, detailing feuds and making revelations about family members. In the book, Harry also criticises the “toxic” British media environment.

Prince Harry and his wife Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex, have primarily resided in California since stepping down from royal duties in 2020.
